Anyone whose been following the gold markets over the past decade, would know that the largest, and consistently ‘sustained’ purchasers of gold are Russia and China. They are increasing their gold reserves through which to back a ‘stable’ form of currency.

What the average person fails to understand, is that when oil reaches $200 a barrel, what we are actually seeing, – is not a cost increase in production, – but a decline in the value of the dollar.
This is no different to watching the gold markets, where the average person thinks gold (metal) is rising and falling in value, – when in fact it remains static. What people are actually seeing is a rising and falling of the value of money. When gold prices are rising, it means that your money is devaluating.
For example: When Gordon Brown sold the UK’s gold, about twenty years back, gold was £300 per oz, – but is now £1400, which means that sterling has devalued by 300%.
This is why the younger generation are debt slaves and cannot afford a home, etc.

Deadline approaches for switching payments to rubles –
President Vladimir Putin has hinted during his payment plan announcement that natural gas could be the first Russian commodity to be sold in rubles. If the West imposes further sanctions, it raises the possibility that other Russian export commodities could be priced in rubles, including oil, metals, and grain.
Russia has given “hostile” countries a March 31 deadline to begin payments for natural gas imports in rubles. The new currency-switch rule will affect countries that imposed economic sanctions on the nation and froze its foreign currency reserves. This particularly concerns some EU countries that rely heavily on Russian energy supplies.
So far, the EU and G7 nations have rejected Russia’s demand to switch their payments for gas to rubles. Russia said it will not provide free gas supplies, suggesting that it is ready to shut off the taps. If that happens Moscow would lose between €200 million to €800 million each day of the embargo. However, Russia could redirect some of the gas to Asia. Europe would likely face an economic crisis not seen since WWII, as soaring energy prices would send the region’s economies into recession.

Kiev Artillery Strike Hits Central Donetsk in Russia – Lancaster report. March 29, 2022
This Ukraine shelling hit the downtown Donetsk area and the suburbs to the west where a lot of pensioners live. A witness there said it went on for 20 minutes, so this was not a few shells harassment type event.
One would wonder why the Ukraine army would be using up precious ammo on targets that are no threat to them and on the big day of the negotiations beginning in Turkey.
I could pose that some Kiev troops thinking that a ceasefire might be called, today could be the last time to get some licks in to punish the civilians for a while. Frontline troops may not have heard that Moscow’s intentions were announced to stabilize operations in north and northeast Ukraine while the talks were going on.
I am not sure of the timing, but a major admin building was hit with a missile in Mykolaiv in Sobornaya Square. There is no way to know which attack might have been the initial one and which one the retaliation.
As for why they picked this time to play the talks card, I suspect Zelensky feels with the Russian Mariupol victory and the horrible publicity of what Kiev’s forces had done there, and the Ukraine army having taken quite a degrading during the last month, that Zelensky might have some motivation to cut his losses.
Kiev also buys some time to get NATO ammunition and equipment restocked via Poland, and that said, Russia would be doing the same with its satellites being able to see all that is coming into western Ukraine.
The big item left unmentioned with the US not being involved at this stage, is the sanctions. But I sense there will be growing pressure to make a deal. The ruble value has bounced back from its initial hit, and the EU is worried not only about inflation, but food and fuel prices from a war they technically are not involved in.

Just because all Western media (no better than Pravda / RT) is now bellowing for a NATO war with Russia and giving Ukraine the same coverage as CoVID-19 is any reason to ping away from that into a pro-Soviet Union position in the war they are visiting upon Ukraine.

You have the Ukrainian people as a nation being fought over by the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Czarist Russia.
