New evidence shows the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) interfered in denying a Freedom of Information (FOI) request by Michael West Media (MWM) into Scott Morrison’s sacking from Tourism Australia in 2006.
MWM has been trying for months to obtain, via FOI, a copy of the 2006 Tourism Australia Board paper that discussed Scott Morrison’s termination. Access to the Board paper was refused. This document could provide critical insights into why the board of thought it necessary to terminate Morrison’s employment as managing director of the organisation after only 15 months. It is a document that no other media organisation has attempted to obtain previously.
As part of consultation process for our original FOI, Tourism Australia was obliged to consult the Prime Minister and seek his views on the release of the document.
We had to lodge a further FOI application to find out what consultation took place between Tourism Australia and external parties, including Morrison. The request uncovered 68 documents.
We were granted full access to two documents, partial access to 16 documents, and refused access to 50 documents. Read more
Morrison should step down, by Alison Ryan
From an article that was first published in the print edition of The Saturday Paper on Jun 8, 2019 as “Fresh documents in Morrison’s sacking”.
“…The Saturday Paper uncovered an auditor-general’s report from 2008 examining the handling of three major contracts, which had delivered a scathing assessment of Tourism Australia’s management.
The report provided the first indication as to the real reason Morrison was removed.”
“The audit report revealed that information had been kept from the board, procurement guidelines breached and private companies engaged before paperwork was signed and without appropriate value-for-money assessments.”
“Both before and since becoming prime minister in August last year (2018), Scott Morrison has refused to answer questions about why the tourism minister took the unusual step in July 2006 of sacking him as head of the agency. He has also refused to answer questions about the handling of the contracts, which were signed the previous year. He did not respond to questions for this story before time of press.”
“The Tourism Australia board, on which Morrison sat as managing director, was then under the chairmanship of former deputy prime minister and Nationals leader Tim Fischer.”
If our PM doesn’t answer the questions and stops FOI requests, Mr Morrison is not batting for the people of Australia. He really should step down, but hardly likely.
Federal Government sacks Tourism Australia Managing Director – August 26, 2006
“In 2003, the Federal Government completed a report on public sector governance which recommends that public agencies without a business function be brought back within executive management.”
“As a result, the Federal Government is now considering whether Tourism Australia, with a $140 million-a-year budget to promote Australia internationally, be effectively handed over to the public service.”
“In addition, there is speculation that Minister Bailey is backing the scrapping of the private sector-dominated board in favour of an appointed advisory panel.”
“Morrison’s resistance to this is believed to be a key reason behind the messy exit.”

This also brings light upon the operations of Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) that Age writer Kenneth Davidson predicted back in the 1990s would fail.
PPPs – “It is little understood by the general public how Public/Private Partnerships are actually used, not as a way to diminish the size of government, but in fact, to increase government’s power. In truth, many PPPs are nothing more than government-sanctioned monopolies. These privileged few businesses are granted special favors like tax breaks, free use of eminent domain, non-competition clauses in government contracts, and specific guarantees of return on their investments. That means the companies, in partnership with the government, can fix their prices, charging beyond what the market demands. They can use their relationship with government to put competition out of business. This is not free enterprise, nor is it government controlled by the people.”

“Nasty saga you nearly missed” By Paul Sheehan
October 26, 2009
“News Limited was willing to pay dearly for this story not to be published. It first offered a $110,000 payment, plus a private apology, to avoid going to court. But the price it demanded was that the matter be kept confidential…The Daily Telegraph had published four stories about Michael Towke which he believed had defamed him, destroyed his political career, and caused untold stress to his family…Towke is also a long-serving member of the Liberal Party. In July 2007 he won preselection for the then safe federal Liberal seat of Cook. He was set to replace the outgoing member, Bruce Baird. The contest attracted a large field, including Paul Fletcher, who recently won Liberal preselection for Bradfield (vacated by the former Liberal leader Brendan Nelson), and a former state director of the NSW Liberal party, Scott Morrison…Towke won easily. On the first ballot, he polled 10 times as many votes as Morrison, 82 votes to 8, who was eliminated in the first round…”The campaign against me started four days after preselection,” Towke said…Two senior people within the Liberal Party, whose identity is known to a widening circle within the party, went through Towke’s nomination papers to find every possible discrepancy and weakness. Then they started calling selected journalists to tell them Towke was a liar. The first story appeared in The Daily Telegraph on July 18, 2007, under the headline, ”Liberal ballot scandal in Howard’s backyard.” Three days later, on July 21, a second story appeared in the Telegraph: ”Towke future on hold.” The next day, in The Sunday Telegraph, a third story: ”Party split as Liberal candidate faces jail.”…Towke was portrayed as a serial liar, an exaggerator. He disputed every such imputation with factual evidence. After it was obvious his political credibility had been destroyed by these stories, he started defamation proceedings. A year of legal attrition ensued…Shortly before the matter was to begin in court this month, Nationwide News paid and settled…Though Towke would eventually win his legal war, the damage had been done. The adverse media coverage set in train a reaction within the party to get rid of him. A second ballot was ordered, in which the balance of power was shifted away from the grassroots in Cook and to the state executive. The second ballot gave the preselection to Scott Morrison. Amazing. He had been parachuted into the seat over Towke’s political carcass. Morrison clearly had backers who wanted him to get the seat…Two years later, Towke’s honour has been restored. His name has been cleared, his standing in the party rehabilitated, and his ties to the electorate broadened…

WHEN YOU’VE GOT YOUR FOOT ON THE STICKY PAPER…………….
The entire consolidated politburo : Libs/ NP/ Labs/ Greens / COINTELPROindependents are paedophile protectors and enablers because they will never mention THE LIST of elite pedophiles under Howard’s 90 year suppression order, therefore suspicion must arise that the PM is on it.
Sounds like someone is desperately trying to put out a fire somewhere. 🙂
New Zealand. ay? When was that? Any old connections over there?
SOooo, I take it that the Australian tax payers footed the payout after his release? And they don’t want us to know how much was involved?
Why the ducks and drakes?
He obviously wakes up each day and gets his instructions from the Woman Who rides the Beast who resides in the City of 7 Hills (Rev 17-18). He is unable to think for himself.
Reblogged this on Nelle's journey.
Might have been around the time of a certain pedophilia charge that was proven!
If there was nothing to hide, they would let the FOI go through. Obviously, Morrison is as bad as we thought and doesn’t want us to see. No longer a politician, but a traitor and criminal as are most that are in Australian governments at all levels. Infiltrated by self-enriching globalist genociders who have declared war on their own people using the fake BS19 as a cover.
Wasn’t he sacked for the same thing in the same job in New Zealand before this event?
