With the media making outrageous claims on the number of infected – all BS of course – and cases getting out of control in several Australian states the ground seems fertile for such a draconian move.
What prompted me to contact you was that I saw your article about Australia wide protests, which I 100% support. We need to do something to stop this Orwellian nightmare.
What worries me though is we are damned if we do and damned if we don’t. If the protests go ahead that is all the justification our authoritarian government will need to enforce a stage 5 lock down.
Like the tea party fiascos, is it possible there are rogue elements organizing, or involved with the protests that could be working against the sensible folk of Australia (few as we are), trying to force such a lock down?
We need millions of people though. A few hundred or even a few thousand people in each state is not going to be enough. Scary stuff.

Tanya is right though with her letter to the Editor that with these Freedom Marches need to double or triple the Police presence as when the Police is outnumbered they will do what the Police should always do is to protect the Freedom Marches. In NSW where the Delta Variant is running rampered, this is when have at least 2 Million in the Freedom Marches moving forward will show these State governments that a famous quote from Twisted Sister “Where Not Going To Take It”. It is possible but the protests are peaceful.

We know not who organises these rallies. However they have served a purpose at the last rally to show that especially in Sydney claims have been made that 50K people attended and the police were over run. Melbourne was smaller but something like in the 1000’s and Brisbane smaller again.Other than solidarity and to witness that more and more people will stand up nothing else was achieved.
Another point is Sydney is more proactive for change that any other city. This is displayed in statistics for the referendums we had for a 3rd tier of government as OPPOSED TO Melbourne. Although, as we know the “NAY” was unanimous throughout Australia.
