Roadside cameras to detect motorists using mobile phones and people not wearing seatbelts will be rolled out permanently in Queensland within weeks.
Key points:
- It will be illegal for drivers to hold a phone in their hand or have it resting on any part of their body
- Some of the cameras will be mobile
- Forty-three people who died in crashes in 2020 were not wearing a seatbelt
A six-month trial of fixed and portable cameras in secret locations began in July last year.
The state government said during the trial more than 15,000 people were detected illegally using a phone while driving and more than 2,200 people were found not wearing a seatbelt.
Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said the time had arrived for the cameras to be made permanent.
“Some of the cameras will be mobile — and we won’t be telling people where they are either,” he said.
“Drivers should expect to be caught anywhere, anytime, whether they’re driving in the city or on a regional highway.
“We’re really unashamed about this. If you’re risking the lives of other people on the roads, then you deserve an offence, you deserve to be held to account.
“Driving distracted with your mobile phone is the drink driving of this era.”
Mr Bailey said using a phone while driving has the same impact as driving with a blood alcohol reading of between 0.07 and 0.10. – from ABC

These cameras controlled by AI are they expected to be throughout the rest of Australia too 🤔🤔🤔 what happens if the Passenger next to the Driver using their phone does this effect them too or only the Driver… I don’t think anyone Driving the car should be operating their phone when cars are about not to bad in the side streets, used my Mobile to get to SoundCloud to stream music that takes 10 secs on the side streets would never do that on the main roads.

And Australians will let them because They are too lazy & self to even look into the truth of what is actually happening. I tell everyone I meet about what’s actually going on & they just look at me with a blank stare or tell me that it doesn’t concerned because they are too old or they rent & don’t own property or haven’t got time. THAT IS NOT YOUR NAME, it’s the name of the trust, set up by the “authorities”. the last name on the license is the “family” name, and unless you ARE the family that is only a description of your origin not your name eg. JOHN DAVIDSON, john- david’s son, (see Elizabeth 11 of the house of Windsor, NOT Betty Windsor). If you agree that that IS your name then you agree to be the trust, and since the (corrupt) authorities generated the trust, own it, and therefore control it THEY LEGITIMATELY CONTROL YOU.
On another note, I’m reasonably informed (please do your own research), that seatbelts are NOT required if you are traveling at less than 20k/h and going door to door. So starting your car without seatbelts on is not an offence.

They tried using these in Texas, they would send a picture of the motorist to their home along with a ticket for the violation. Unfortunately, there were times where the people were in the car with someone else that wasn’t their spouse, so they got caught cheating. Needless to say, those cameras have been taken down.

Only holding your ‘phone, youll be fined ? Not likely ! Using your ‘phone, yes, but that can only be proven if the spy cameras are able to know the ‘phone is active… Tracking and eavesdropping on your conversations !
And the spy cameras are also recording where you are – and your vehicle number plate, and taking snapshots of who’s behind the wheel…
The greater their restrictions and spying on you, the greater Their Fear of You…
This is how it starts. Many will agree with initial premise, and will excuse the privacy violations. The next step will be to have more cameras under the excuse that the existing cameras are not enough. We need more just in case someone starts their car without putting their seatbelt on – or has something that looks a phone, visibly too close to their body… a wallet, book, etc…they will invent something to fit…Privacy laws don’t mean anything to governments that want to control you.
