OK, sure, there is a nasty virus going around, so people are taking common sense precautions, as people typically do for any nasty virus, but there is no “state of emergency” in effect, and no reason to radically transform society into a paranoid, pathologized-totalitarian dystopia.
This state of affairs, in which two contradictory, mutually-exclusive realities exist, is…well, it’s impossible, and so it cannot continue. Either there exists a devastating global pandemic that justifies a global “state of emergency,” the suspension of constitutional rights, and the other totalitarian “emergency measures” we have been subjected to since March of 2020 or there doesn’t.
It really is as simple as that.

Karen the Australian government has not declared that there is a pandemic.
The Declaration signed by the Governor General only refers to ‘a probable pandemic”.
Likewise WHO has not declared a pandemic, but declared that this covid nonsense has the ‘character’ of a pandemic.
(check out the difference between ‘character’ vs ‘nature’, as one is substance and the other is a lookalike without being the same thing)
These political arsxholes are being cunning wordsmiths, but enough the confusion is generated amongst the masses that the Medical Directors can take it the next step and call it a pandemic under a state of emergency.
It IS as simple as that. Open your door and go outside. If a nazi (police) officer challenges you, say the magic words (repeat after me): “My doctor told me to,” And if one of the officious self-appointed hall monitors that totalitarian policies seem to spawn like mosquitoes in stinking water does the same, help them take a nap: pretend to be hard of hearing, and when they lean in to shout in your ear, help them take a nap by landing a smart punch to the side of the jaw. Then step back and yell, “Somebody help that man!” and leave.
old kodger, people generally have short memories. It does not hurt to repeat. I learnt by rote in my early school years. Sometimes we can see ahead of the situation so insight has to fit the current narrative.

About that “Expert Panel” on teevee’s “The Project”, and their “expert opinions”:
Jacques Ellul, author of “Propaganda. The Formation of Men’s Attitudes” designates intellectuals as virtually the most vulnerable of all to modern propaganda, for three reasons: 1). they absorb the largest amount of secondhand, unverifiable information; 2). they feel a compelling need to have an opinion on every important question of our time, and thus easily succumb to opinions offered to them by propaganda on all such indigestible pieces of information; 3). they consider themselves capable of “judging for themselves.” They literally need propaganda….
The Projects “Expert Panel” are the corporate state’s Useful Idiots, and like that guy Symes in Orwell’s “1984” – tasked with stripping all non-Newspeak words from the dictionary, so that the range of thought could be reduced – they too will be disappeared when their masters have no further use for them…
The definition of ‘pandemic’ was changed by WHO about a decade ago, that’s why
Australia can have a ‘pandemic’ without the bodies piling up… We are living through an updated version of Orson Welles 1938 radio play about A Martian Invasion. Then, the radio was used to terrify people into hiding under the bed or in the cellar – because a voice on the radio said “the Martians are invading”… Today, teevee is the medium for spreading fear…
