Interesting legal antics played out at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) on Tuesday 25 May 2021 where Victorian advocate lawyer Serene Teffaha presented her case to stay the decision of Victorian Legal Services Board (VLSB) canceling her license to practice.

Working with substantial resources, defense barrister Tim Scotter appears VLSB preferred from cases listed on his CV a far cry from Serene Teffaha an unlicensed solicitor with frozen assets.
Body language with discussion revealed Judge Hampel and Mr Scotter are known to each other while on several occasions judge Hampel had difficulty remembering Serene’s name.
It became apparent during the hearing the VLSB have an agenda for Ms Teffaha presented in Mr Scotter’s defence upon which Ms Teffaha on many occasions counter attacking credibility of the VLSB brief.
Judge Hampel, who served as a Victorian Law Reform Commissioner, now has the task of adjudicating her findings as you may be assured the gallery online have done.

Don’t know anything much about the Law but the Judge seemed a bit confused at times to cover the fact she didn’t like Serene’s statements of truthful facts.

I want to know why Serene was deregistered. I cannot find a reason.. Also the word tribunal means three .But I did read Just one can be a tribunal Is that right ? It does not make sense to me.
Why didn’t Julian Burnside or his cohort Frank Brennan ,Jesuit and lawyer those great human rights defenders standup for the people locked in the towers ? Something smells mighty strange here.
