Over the past fortnight Townsville’s population of 174,000 has seen 300 home break ins and 70 cars stolen in a crime orgy unequalled anywhere in Australia.
Townsville police have warned it is only a matter of time before gangs of marauding, mainly black youths kill a resident in a home invasion or a homeowner kills one of them.
In the latest incident, juveniles allegedly forced their way into a Townsville home just after midnight on Wednesday and attacked a 28-year-old man with a machete.
Police said he was taken to hospital in a stable condition with multiple wounds to his hand and back.
A blue four-wheel-drive was stolen during the incident.
The 4WD Ford Ranger was later sighted at 4am and police began a short pursuit before calling off the chase.
Chief Superintendent Craig Hanlon said since Thursday, 12 people had been arrested in Townsville on 57 charges ranging from unlawful use to burglary and stealing.
“Of those 12 people, nine are juveniles and all of those juveniles currently remain in custody,” he told the Townsville Bulletin on Wednesday.
“The use of knives and machetes has to stop.
“We’re one minor issue away from someone being seriously injured or killed.
“I want to know what those family and friends of those people are doing … this is disgusting behaviour and it’s got to stop.”
Approximately 40 police were deployed across the city overnight to deal with a range of incidents.
Residents of a home who are invaded, threatened or injured have every right at common law to defend themselves with whatever means are available.
Guns are not out of the question and should be used as a deterrent against these anti-social attackers before these often mentally retarded* invaders kill an innocent resident.
Last year black youths stole a car from a home in Townsville after pointing a rifle at the owner and taunting him as he moved towards the offender: “You want to be a hero mate….?”
If this homeowner had a firearm he could have defended himself but Labor’s gun policies have left people unprotected and at the mercy of marauding Aboriginal youths.
It will take just one blackfella to be shot, then their gutless mates will disappear into the night when they realise Labor’s policies rightly have been ignored. People when threatened or injured will arm themselves and defend their families and property. That is their inherent right.
After all the homeowner is the first responder. Calling the police as the evidence shows often is a waste of time because the understaffed and under-equipped stations cannot respond immediately even if a victim was fortunate enough to actually speak to an officer on the phone.
Dial 000 and get an operator from anywhere in Australia or Police Link which is a recorded phone service requiring an email address to record a crime.
Labor is trumpeting its recent changes to the Juvenile Justice laws which purportedly allow magistrates to refuse bail to serious repeat offenders, but Katters Australian Party leader Robbie Katter and LNP Opposition Police spokesman Dale Last say the changes are superficial and will not and have not made one bit of difference to re-offending.
Mr Katter said the evidence revealed the crime rate is increasing even though the Labor Party had instructed senior police to downplay the burgeoning crime data.
*Data regarding young Aboriginal and white offenders in 2019 showed most were suffering from malnutrition or had damaged brains from petrol sniffing, illicit drug and alcohol abuse.
I’m over the governments bullshit. We the people need to do something about these maggots at the top.
It was a mistake for Australia to abandon biblical capital punishment involving death by hanging for capital crimes like treason (eg. election fraud), murder, pedophilia, rape, aggravated assault and kidnapping.
There is no reason why the perpetration of these capital crimes should result in an obligation by taxpayers to fund the imprisonment of the perpetrators, which involves supplying them with water, food, clothing and shelter for several years while they are imprisoned.
Capital punishment involving death by hanging for capital crimes is required as an ominous warning to citizens that if they commit a capital crime and are convicted in court, they will be executed.
Yes. Quilpie seems my style. Or maybe Coen. Anyone who went along with gun confiscation has not read the history of the last 300 years.
Sorry – I mean “out of the regions” – Agenda 2030. And yes – we should have never let Howard remove our guns..
Great advice Chuck how about moving to Queensland? Ed
Here in Florida we would never be reading this. Everybody has a rifle, most have pistols, and about one in five owns a backhoe. A little noise (if the owner does not also have a suppressor), a new flower garden, and all is quiet again.
This is deliberate – they don’t want people in the regions – Agenda 2030
Sir,
Your comments on the above are some what misleading.
I will admit these what take payment meant for representatives of the people at the present are taking money on false pretenses.
I would pass the blame for this debacle back to little Jonny and his gun bans, which were well supported by the Queensland pollies at the time of all parties.
When we have a Gov. of the people who represent the people and listen to the people we may get somewhere.
Yeah, Nah. Calling the 28 year old victim a man is concerning. A MAN would fight to the death if necessary to defend family and property. Today’s ‘men’ have been neutered and are not even a shadow of what men used to be or represented.
Dump all those teenagers on a island to fend for themselves until they can prove they can fit into society
