THE UGG BOOT FRAUD

The word UGG Boots is an Australian cultural product, the word has been in common usage for over seventy years and used continuously making it a common use word of public property that has been published in the public domain and therefore cannot be patented, trade marked or claimed by anyone as the originator in any Statement-of-User’ or claim as originator or first user of the word — anyone doing so has committed perjury and potential fraud of financial gain by deception.

Decades ago there was large UGG Boot manufacturing business on the northern side of the highway at Tweed Heads, NSW, just past Markwells Prawn Processing Factory on the opposite side.

They employed a large number of people and exported UGG Boots worldwide, with a huge sign on the front of the building.

Prior to and subsequently that there were many county markets selling UGG Boots made by local craftsmen at various places across eastern Australia, I encountered them in shops from Victoria through central NSW up into Queensland, they were in a shops at Maryborough and Gympie as we remember seeing colored ones there.

Back in the early 1960’s at the beginning of the Hippie alternate culture many wore UGG Boots at their festivals, and they were sold at their markets.
