The mainstream media is pushing a clear narrative — Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is expected to win in November.
But voters aren’t buying it, according to recently released polling data from two independent sources.
With just weeks to go until the general election, these polls show Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump surging — and the news likely has the Clinton campaign panicking.
According to an Investor’s Business Daily poll released Sunday, Clinton and Trump are now in a dead heat, each polling among likely voters at 41%.
They’re not alone, either. Rasmussen Report’s latest poll has Trump up two points over the Democratic candidate. “The new national telephone and online survey of Likely U.S. Voters shows Trump with 43% support to Clinton’s 41%. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson gets five percent (5%) of the vote, while Green Party nominee picks up three percent (3%),” according to the pollsters.
What’s behind the sudden surge for Trump? Analysts point to the third and final presidential debate Wednesday, held just before the aforementioned polls.
If voters overwhelmingly preferred Trump’s performance, as his supporters claimed they did, it could be responsible for the massive shift.
